Mr. Daniel Hempey
has tried hundreds of cases to verdict. He has practiced law since 1990. Mr. Hempey has been lead counsel on some of Kauai's most important cases in recent years and he has an outstanding record of success in the trial and appeals courts. Mr. Hempey practices in the areas of criminal and civil litigation. His work includes civil rights, corporate negligence, criminal defense, environmental protection, and Native Hawaiian rights.
He has dedicated much of his legal career to public justice with a prolific history of pro bono work. Mr. Hempey is a former public defender in Montgomery County, Maryland, and has also worked as a trial attorney / appellate advisor for the highly regarded Private Defender program in San Mateo County, California. He has served as a judge pro tempore in Alameda, California.
Mr. Gregory Meyers
is the former Managing Attorney of Legal Aid Society of Hawaii's Kauai office and he currently practices with Hempey & Meyers in the areas of family law (divorce, child custody, adoption, guardianship, child support), criminal defense (adult and juvenile), personal injury and civil litigation.
Mr. Charley Foster practices in the areas of bankruptcy, business formations, negotiated debt settlements, trials and appeals, summary-judgment and post-verdict motions. As an associate with Hempey & Meyers LLP, Charley provides sensible client counseling and representation in the areas of bankruptcy, appeals, administrative law, real property and civil litigation.
